We spent an afternoon in May working on weather experiments. First up was making a tornado in a jar. A little water, a squirt of dishsoap, and a dash of glitter. This actually made pretty good tornadoes, but they needed an adult to get the right swirling motion to start them.
Next up was creating rain storms. Water topped with shaving cream, a little dyed water acted as the rain. This was really neat as you could watch the color move through the shaving cream cloud and trickle into the water.
