Stiles Falls

While Steve was in Canada, the boys and I hit the trails at Camp Alta Mons in Shawsville and hiked to Stiles Falls. We were really lucky that Grandma and our good friend Walt were able to join us in our last minute plans. The first half of the trail was easy, even with the stroller.

At the first creek crossing we ditched the stroller in favor of the backpack. It's been awhile since I've had Ben in the pack and was a little worried that he wouldn't like the confinement, but he loved it!!! He kept saying "Hey Bailey! Hey Gramma! Hey Owie! Up Here! Backpack! BACKPACK!"

It was WAY steeper and rockier than I remember it being (maybe that's because last time I went I wasn't toting 30 pounds of toddler on my back?) and I was really thankful to have the extra hands to help Owen and I. And many thanks are owed to the nameless young man who passed Ben and the pack down to me after I climbed down a particularly steep part on the way back! It wasn't pretty but we had a great time :)

A partial family shot at the falls.

BB konked out on the way back. It was a little unnerving to be carrying that much dead weight. He really was floppy!
